Scammers

The app steals your keywords because you yourself grant access to them, and the developers remove reviews about this since they charge you a subscription fee. In other words, you are paying them to share your data with competitors. To the developers, I say that if you delete the reviews again, I will write them over and over. People must recognize the fraudsters by face—perhaps Apple will soon learn about you too. This is exactly what I'm talking about: you have populated your database with keywords by accessing application accounts through your users' APIs, who granted access to their accounts via API. Based on your response—false! Since the keywords are not available for public viewing! How can you claim that these specific keywords pertain to one app or another when, according to Apple's documents, the keywords are not publicly accessible information? Thus, having access to the API—you are peeking at the keywords of various apps and selling this information as a feature of your own app. Those who do not connect their API to your app do not have access to this feature. This means that through the API, you have intruded into others' metadata, while giving access to those who paid for a subscription, as if it’s a spy feature. Apple's approval process often operates retrospectively: it initially approves apps from banks that are under sanctions or violate rights, only to remove them later. Apparently, the council does not pay attention to everything immediately.

Developer Response ,

Thank you for your feedback. I’d like to address your concerns and clarify how our application, aso.dev, handles data and API keys.

Our app uses API keys exclusively for optional features such as saving metadata changes, uploading screenshots, and responding to reviews directly in App Store Connect. Importantly, users can choose not to provide their API key if they do not require these features. You can add any app simply by using its link, which confirms that we do not use API keys or any other user data to populate our database.

Additionally, our tool allows users to view keyword positions for any app without needing to add their own app or API key. We source this data directly from the official search API and it is based strictly on publicly available information, not on user data.

Regarding the specific issue of "stealing keywords", I would like to clarify that the "Keywords" metadata field is not publicly accessible. Keywords filled in any application metadata and obtained by API key are not stored on our server.

The search query positions for any term are publicly available - look at the Apple Services Marketing Tools site, for example.
We show all recommendations based only on public data, based on ranking for each word in our database, not on any app metadata.

As for the allegations about deleting reviews, it is important to note that as developers, we do not have the ability to remove reviews from the App Store—only Apple can do that. We have been reviewed and approved by the App Review Board for our use of the Connect API in our program.

We take privacy and transparency very seriously and are committed to upholding the highest standards of data integrity. If there are any more details you would like to discuss or if you have further questions, please feel free to reach out to us directly at https://aso.dev/contact . We are here to help and ensure your experience with our app is positive and clear.
