This is gonna be a long one, only because I obsessively love this game and wants it to last.

I downloaded this game after I get tired of seeing so many of its ads everywhere (literally on YT, IG, FB, etc) thinking it would be a joke.

Boy was I wrong. I was certainly not prepared to love this game as much as I do now. I fell down a rabbit hole and have spent a lot here, both time and money. I’m VIP6 now. It’s mostly the multiplayer aspect that makes me stick around. However, the local chat server has been getting more and more quiet lately. More and more users seem to be leaving, especially the non VIPs. I have also spent less time here.

I think you need to make events less of a cash grab and more of a strategy-based quests.
For example, in the Chinese Valentine event for Magpie quest where you needed to pair up with another player to complete quests and claim an outfit set. A lot of non VIPs were extremely enthusiastic of that. The partnering-up aspect was very interesting too.

But you ruined it when you changed one of the quests to open another 3x paid loot boxes in R. Clothes Bureau so in total there were 6 boxes you required us players to open. We knew from other servers that originally the quest was to cook 3X excellent meals. Most of us had already prepared the ingredients by farming and it took a lot of time. We were invested. I was saddened to see a lot of free-to-play users complaining how they didn’t manage to unlock the full outfit set just cause they couldn’t open those paid boxes.

Now, I know it’s up to you devs to change quests as you like. But you have to consider the effect it will have on your game in the long-run. A lot of users are leaving because they feel ripped off. For example, 9800 ingots for a partner/confidant is a ridiculous amount even for me, a VIP6. Your 1980 ingots pack costs almost USD 30. Now imagine that for the free-to-play users. A lot of your market players are students who have yet to make an income. If later on only the VIPs stay, I imagine they would be bored too —I know I would be.

TLDR; the game is impressive, storyline is engaging, but to be blunt, it’s too much of a cash grab.
