Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR) is the amount of blood filtered by the kidney in a minute. This GFR value is an indicator of renal function, so it is used widely in diagnosis and staging of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). GFR is the optimal way to measure kidney function. Normal GFR varies according to age, sex, and body size.
