About Walking Stars
Walking Stars is your one night to shine bright for all people facing cancer. Walk 21km on 4 December through Melbourne’s CBD, or in your local neighbourhood through the app, and raise money for life-saving cancer research, prevention programs and support services. Log your training kms in preparation for the event, unlock starry face filters, share your progress and pictures on social media and check out the top fundraisers on the leaderboard.
How it works
Register your ticket at walkingstars.cancervic.org.au to activate the app. You can form a team by inviting friends or complete the challenge solo. Shine bright by unlocking sparkly face filters throughout your training and during the 21km challenge. Plus, you'll receive an awesome personalised virtual medal when you complete the challenge!
Get started on your training and fundraising
After you register for Walking Stars, you can start training and fundraising straight away. You'll receive a FREE six-week training plan and tips to help you along the way. In the weeks leading up to the 21km challenge, train and fundraise as a team or a solo star to unlock fun features in the app.
Complete the 21km challenge
On Saturday 4 December 2021, it’s time to complete your 21km challenge – you’ll either be joining us in Melbourne’s CBD and following the city course map, or you’ll be walking in your local neighbourhood where you’ve planned your own journey. Remember, this is a non-competitive event, so walk at your own pace and have fun with it!
Shine bright
As you embark on your challenge, take note of the virtual checkpoints guiding you, you will unlock achievements and face filters to share as you progress. Once you’ve passed the finish line or walked your 21km, you’ll receive your very own personalised virtual medal to share with your supporters!
