Description

Do you want more than an intermediate level of English? Every week you get an English lesson based on an interesting video and topic that is currently in the news.

Hello everyone! I’m Mandeep and I’ve been teaching English for a very long time. I’ve helped hundreds of students move up from intermediate to advanced and with this app I’ll give you weekly lessons using everything I know about how people get really good at languages.

This app is for you if you have an intermediate level of English (or higher) and want to feel more confident in English-speaking environments. For example, when people talk about what’s happening in the world today.

In my lessons, I present the ‘real’ language from the video clips and TV shows that everyone is talking about and analyse it so you can understand everything.

So what do you get?

Each lesson has 3 sections:

1. Analysis of a contemporary English-speaking video of the week.

- At the start of the lesson, I introduce a video about something in the news or relevant to modern culture.
- We study the vocabulary and any interesting language that is used in the video.
- As you watch the video you can slow the talking speed to understand it more easily.
- You can watch with clear and correct subtitles (The subtitles are not auto-generated. I review them to make sure there are no mistakes.)
- You can check the meaning of important words and learn from my "teacher notes" that explain the cultural information that you might not know.

2. Extra practice with an advanced point of language, culture or skill.

- After the video, we take the opportunity to learn something extra from the "real" language we saw in the video.
- One week it might be pronunciation, another week a grammar point or useful expressions or tips to study better. It depends on the video of the week.
- This section includes audio examples (my own voice, I do not use AI generation) and exercises to help you practice the language.

3. Test your knowledge of new vocabulary

- In the final section you can watch the video again but as an interactive test.
- As you watch, the most important vocabulary will not appear in the subtitles.
- You have to choose from a list of synonyms to complete the missing word. Good luck!

With these lessons every week, you’ll get to practise listening to authentic English and understand how English speakers really use the language. I’ll include lots of different accents and situations too. This will really help you grow in confidence.

I’m so happy you’re here! All you need to do is install the app and I’ll send you a fun, interactive class every week.

Bye for now,

Mandeep
