Great little helper
Hey, we can recommend this app - you can leave your one phone aimed at your kid and watch the video on another phone/tablet/computer. Each device needs to buy the app but it’s definitely worth it.
You can select to be notified if there’s a move or sound from your kid, which means you don’t need to keep looking at your phone all the time. Also, you can use your phone at the same time - the parent unit I mean.
It’s good to have both phones charged as the video consumes quite a bit of battery (but it can be switched to transfer only sound too).
If there’re any issues, the support is very good.
Fine app, does exactly what you need
I've used this app for about a month. It does exactly what I want -- turns an old iPhone into a video and audio monitor. The "talk to baby" function has saved me dozens of trips up the stairs.
I don't use the cloud functionality, and I like that I don't have to. I also really like that you must give an explicit "ok" to connecting a parent device for the first time.
I haven't used the music or sound effects much. I've used the nightlight a bit, having taped some construction paper over the flash to mute the power of it -- ideally I'll figure out a better way to diffuse the flash.
Overall I'd definitely recommend this app.
Parent unit can’t detect child unit reliably
Hi,
When it works this is a great app.
Inexplicably the parent unit can not detect the child unit at regular intervals. No issue with WiFi. Strong signal. Same issue over bluetooth.
If this could be resolved then it’s definitely a 5 star app. Sorry but for now it’s a single star.

Hello Liam,
The app uses Apple Bonjour provided by your WiFi router to discover the devices. Some WiFi routers are still in 2018 broken and do not provide reliable Apple Bonjour experience. The solution might be to upgrade router firmware, and/or reset it to factory settings, or use another WiFi router from a reliable brand (Apple, TPLink, and others). The WiFi routers provided for free by network operators are most likely to be broken and not working properly. Bluetooth range is typically too low to rely on on a daily basis. One solution you can use right now is to activate unlimited range - tap the cloud icon top right on both devices and use the same email and password on both devices. Unlimited range does work around the broken Apple Bonjour support of your WiFi router. Please get in touch with us at support@cloudbabymonitor.com to get more help. Thanks Martin.
