A big big revolution in open-source AI
Hat off to the engineer of DeepSeek for building such an amazing AI model and positively shocking the entire world. I have been comparing DeepSeek with ChatGPT from the last 2 days by asking the same questions and DeepSeek R1 by far wins the competition.
Immediate Privacy Concerns
‘Sign in with Apple’ functionality for account creation fails every-time. This prevents new users from keeping their real email and full name private. ‘Sign in with Apple’ & ‘Hide my email’ are excellent fundamental privacy features every app must implement on Apple’s Platforms.
Given the privacy concerns of this type of app (users surrendering detailed user searches and potentially identifying prompts). Not to mention the geo-politics of this App’s ownership.
By failing to actually allow users to use ‘Sign In With Apple’ (giving a nondescript error prompt and no workaround) - This app leaves the only other option to provide the developer with your phone number which is a disgrace from a privacy perspective to a faceless Chinese corporation.
I strongly urge Apple to revoke this App’s developer license until this App Store requirement is actually implemented.
Interesting
It was good yesterday, but today it’s very slow. Would be nice to have the speech function to make the conversation more human. Nice to see it taking on the ‘big’ companies out to make money.
