The EyeTV app turns your iPad and iPhone into the ultimate portable television! Access the EyeTV software and hardware running on your Mac at home anywhere you have an LTE/3G or Wi-Fi connection.

Easy Setup
There is no need to reconfigure your local Wi-Fi network. Simply activate the option "iPhone/iPad Sharing" in the EyeTV preferences. Sometimes, fully automatic configuration may not be possible outside of your local network. Please see www.geniatech.eu for details.
If you’re using the OS X firewall, be sure to allow incoming connections for both EyeTV and EyeConnect. EyeTV uses port 2170. If that doesn’t let you connect, try turning off the firewall and turning it back on again.

Great app, now give us 3G support and "audio only" streams..
Updated 18 Nov 2015, still a great app but would like an audio only version that runs in the back ground. Also a Apple TV version would be very handy.
Update, now supports 3G. Almost perfect except I am still waiting on audio only multitasking feature for listening to radio.
Good app that works well. Best feature is the ability to watch your recordings on your iPhone while another user is watching TV on your main Mac, superb video quality over local wifi network. A few useful additions would be the ability to stream live TV over 3G and the inclusion of an "audio only stream" feature would be useful for listening to radio stations. You can control your eyetv over 3G, which is handy for setting recordings etc., and you can watch reduced quality recordings, but you can't watch live TV. Well worth getting though at this resonable price.
Crashy and won't stream live TV properly
Bought this purely to stream live tv from my EyeTV 250 to my iPad, but it just doesn't work... After much buffering, The video plays out at like 10x normal speed then stops, while the audio continues at normal speed.
It has also crashed on me a few times.
