Fitbit Versus 2

It’s very good, does everything it said it would do. I was looking around to upgrade, “but as I’m a senior most of the sporting & serious exercise recommendations are really beyond me. Most of the competitors like Apple, Garmin, etc. or even the Fitbit upgrades, while more expensive don’t offer much more for me. I’m not even really interested in the Premium offers.
I love this little watch, there are three of them in our household & we have to laugh when ‘ping’ three of us are instructed to jump up do our hourly steps. I would recommend it to anyone. Look at their up grades like I did if you are sporty, you’ll probably find Fitbit offers more “bang for your buck”.

Great App :: Except!!

Great app. Absolutely love it. Very intuitive and has all the functionality you would need. Accurate recording as well for for capturing and workouts. Except the food tracking is a serious pain. You keep having to search for food items as it does not have a favourites section on the mobile version, to facilitate easy capturing of foods. The website does have this feature however that means that you have to sit down in front of a PC each time you want to capture food items. It’s a real pain. Generally I eat the same 20 - 30 products per week but the app doesn’t remember all of them and to manually add them risks not having accurate acero nutrient info as is manually entered. And, there is no comma option on the mobile version which means you either need to omit these nutrient values or round up so you’re not recording accurately. The app basically keeps overwriting the last products entered. So if you deviate for a week that let’s say you’re on holiday, when you start looking after that week it will have none of the regular products. I’ve moved over to another app for food tracking. Basically another developer that gives a ___ about my goals as a user and my needs. Why study 2,85 years of a three year degree? Your nearly there fitbit, don’t be lazy. This is a critical dimension of your product offering. One App to rule them all.

Poor integration, otherwise okay.

I’m overall disappointed with the app, though some aspects might be the device itself (using an Inspire3). For example I find step counting erratic- a vacuum of my bedroom added 2000 steps (and I promise, I don’t have that big a bedroom!). The app itself I found a bit confusing at first, not obvious at times what to click on or where data was buried but overall it is fine. What has left me totally cold though is lack of integration, specifically to Apple Health. I have other health apps and data all flows there, where I can share with family. Fitbit however won’t provide its data and seems to expect me to manually add data I’ve collected elsewhere in to their app instead. That’s quite blinkered and very poor. There are 3rd party options for integration but they are incomplete, unsafe looking, or viciously overpriced. The result is I’ve ended up now rarely using Fitbit and going back to other devices.
