Ratings and Reviews
Don't get me wrong, GTA Chinatown Wars is an excellent game, and it earned highest Nintendo DS game for a reason, but its just that, it's really made for the ds. This is also an issue with the psp.
It's still better than the other GTA games on iOS, so if you're going to buy any GTA game on this platform, then buy this!
Doesn’t get past license page on boot
Apparently micro transactions in GTA: Online and RDR isn’t enough money for rockstar.
They leave broken games on the App Store to take your money too.
Have had this game for a few weeks now. I'm about 30% through it, and I can safely say that this is the best iPhone I have played so far.
As with what you'd expect from a GTA title the game is very emersive, graphically impressive, humorous and above all incredible fun. The city is huge and there are hours of varied gameplay to be had. The game has plenty of minigames and sub-missions in addition of the main story arc. So, you can dip in and out of the game as much as you want. Perfect for short spells of gameplay to pass the time or equally you can sit down for an hour with it and work on the storyline missions.
Graphically, while this isn't going to compete with it's bigger brothers of GTA on PS3, Xbox or PC, the iPhone is well able to hold it's own against DS and PSP versions. On an iPhone 3Gs graphically the game runs smoothly and quickly. Lack of physical controls can be a little offputting, but after a few hours of gameplay you will get comfortable with it. The game incorporates the iPhone's touchscreen to good effect in cut scenes where you have to touch and move items on the screen (eg hot-wiring a car or defusing a bomb).
A great game and highly recommended. Also, all the price of just €7.99.
