Description

Community Text Alert smartphone app for Irish community text alert group members. Talk to your group manager or committee member about joining!

The Community Text Alert App is used by a large number of Community Text Alert groups across Ireland. The "App Alert" is an improvement on standard text message alerts that are limited in size. There are no 160-character limitations when notifications are received through this App and it is also possible to include photographs as part of any notification.

The aim of this App is to provide your community text alert group with an improved method for communicating with you. If your community alert is using CommunityAlerts.ie as their text alert service provider then we encourage you to download and install this App on your Apple device. This App is a far more efficient way for your community group to issue alerts compared to standard SMS Text Messages, so this App greatly improves your overall Community Text Alert experience.

Notifications are delivered through this App at the same time as standard text messages so there is no delay in receiving any Community Alerts.

You should receive your login details from your Text Alert group manager/committee. If not, you can now request login details directly within this app.

Hi, advising that robberies have taken place 2 and 3 days after the event is of little help. Also stating that they occurred in Malahide or Portmarnock again is of little value. It would be most preferable if the alert was made within 12 hours of the reported burglary. It would be especially helpful if the local area was identified as persons in that area may have seen something suspicious. Regards Jerome

Developer Response ,

Thanks Jerome. That’s understandable. It sounds more like Garda delays rather than issues with the app. Our suggestion is you raise the issue with Malahide Gardai or your text alert group manager (who can provide feedback to Gardai on your behalf).

I’m not sure the app itself is the problem in this case though.
