Job search
One of the best apps for actual jobs. Easy to view and apply & make changes to CV & cover letters for separate jobs. Saves applications for future review. Sad to see the feature to mark favourites and revisit after expiry has gone. Also the feature that told you how many applications have been made for a particular job was useful too.
Joke of an app
The app is so user friendly but it’s completely overshadowed by the fact that you can not find what you’re looking for! When you put in your preferences, skills and qualifications into your profile it’s of no use. You’ll get nothing but ads for jobs that you have zero qualifications for. Plus you can’t even find any jobs on the app you have to wait until they’re emailed to you. Everytime I open it i’m instantly hit with hundreds of ads looking for Call Centre Agents and Recruiters and Field Sales Reps because those companies pay to have their ads shoved to the front. For rubbish miserable jobs that almost sound like a pyramid scheme. I apply to be a recruiter so then another recruiter arranges for an interview and then i get recruited so i can recruit more people???
Nothing but the most niche jobs that want you to have a bachelor’s degree or a job where you knock on peoples door trying to sell them stuff they don’t need. Never any jobs for the local supermarkets or a simple retail job. Most of the ads on there are made by these “recruitment agencies” and not the actual employer and it doesn’t show the name of the company or go into to much detail about what the role actually is! Absolute Madness
A feature to give anonymous feedback to companies on their ads…
I think this is a decent app to find jobs and discover new companies. But just like most of these apps, I feel as though the companies will always be priority over the job seekers. One way to show you care, could be to add a feature, that allows the jobseekers to give feedback to indeed on how good/bad their ad was. I know some companies privately ask for feedback on their application process, but it should be of Indeed’s best interest to moderate the type of ads jobseekers see.
I say this because, there are so many ads put up, that are not clear what exactly they are looking for in their candidates. It is beyond frustrating! They somewhat look rushed, and most of these are coming from major companies, not necessarily smaller businesses. This could potentially also reduce scammy job ads.
