Kardia works with the FDA-cleared KardiaMobile or KardiaBand ECG devices— the most clinically-validated mobile EKG solution on the market.

Just touch the sensors on your Kardia EKG device for 30 seconds to capture a medical-grade EKG anytime, anywhere - no probes or wires necessary. Get an immediate result from Kardia's Instant Analysis of Normal, Possible AF, Bradycardia, Tachycardia or Unclassified. Additionally you can choose to send the recording to your physician or to one of our partners for a paid Clinician Review. (Clinician review available in U.S., U.K., Ireland, and Australia only).

SmartRhythm workout monitoring is a system that takes your heart rate and activity data gathered from the Apple Watch during workouts, and evaluates it using a deep neural network to predict your heart rate pattern. If your heart rate differs from the neural network prediction, SmartRhythm will notify you to record an EKG with your KardiaMobile or KardiaBand. Kardia integrates with Apple Health to monitor users heart rate during workout.

New U.S. accounts will have their first EKG sent to our partners for review by a U.S. board-certified cardiologist free of charge (a $19 value within the app). You will be blocked for up to 24 hours from EKG features until the review is complete. This will only happen with your first EKG, all future EKGs on your account will give you a Kardia Instant Analysis, and allow you to review your EKG immediately.

The Kardia app, paired with Kardia Mobile, is recommended by leading cardiologists and used by people around the world for accurate electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) recordings.Record your heart health data with the medical accuracy your doctor can trust.

NOTE: Requires KardiaMobile or KardiaBand hardware to record an ECG

Excellent app. Helps me track and document my paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, and assists me and my physician monitor treatment.

Does the trick

It works great. It's probably a limitation of the hardware that you can't really record a measurement while on the move. Not a criticism but it would be great. Only thing I would change about the app is the launch/home screen. It should really just be a large 'Record your ECG' button with a duration option (30sec, 1,2min etc). It's lost in a whole list of other things e.g. Apple Watch, Medicine reminder etc which all could be in the top sub menu. Just makes it slightly awkward and slow to take a quick ECG which at times is really important to catch an irregularity really quickly.

Developer Response ,

Thank you for the feedback, i've created an improvement request to have it looked over by our product and engineering team. As to an "on-the-go" product, you may want to take a look at our recently released KardiaBand product that lets you record an EKG from an always ready Apple watch face using a new watch band EKG. It still requires you stop walking to take the recording, but it is very unobtrusive and discrete, and you never have to even open the phone app.

Please let us know if you have any other issues.

Connection established but no recording

I have had many issues with this app so have been unable to record a palpitation when it happened which defeated the purpose of me buying it in first place. I seem to have a good signal with the Kardia but the count down does not start and this is after changing batteries and restarting the app over and over again! It is an expensive piece of equipment and FDA approved. I do have high expectations. Update: 13Nov18: upgraded to a new iPhone8 I can consistently see lower heart rate in comparison to my old iPhone SE. I believe it's the glass back on the iPhone. This was not well thought through. I have data to prove that Kardia readings are on average 10 bpm lower on iPhone 8 vs iPhone SE.

Developer Response ,

Apologies for the poor performance, we too have high expectations for our devices and service. We have had a few updates to our application addressing getting a signal. If you could let us know if you are still having issues it would be much appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to contact us.
