Ratings and Reviews
Best quality RDP client for OSX to Windows
Have tried many other remote cient apps but always prefer the Microsoft Remote Desktop for sessions from OSX to Windows, the look and feel of the app is nicer than other apps. Completely configurable and added confugurations through the Windows Group Policy on the remote machine side is great. If its Mac to Windows RDP this is the app!
Connection Quality is Great. Using it is just painful
No complaints about connection quality, in fact its one of the best I've used between teamviewer, vnc and all the rest. Using a PC as a mac user is a sensitive topic. The app is infuriating in how it remaps keys. The RD client only allows mapping of undo/copy/paste. Keys are just plain different between the platforms, but for the most part, 90% of the commands I use could be remapped by just swapping "command" and "control". All good VM software has some sort of remapping ability for example.
I've been driven mad pressing command-W to close a window instinctively (control-f4 is a long way from my mind). Of course, I'm wrong, but this is picked up by remote desktop itself, and closes the entire session.
Issues with sound
Generally works well, I use it to log into my work Cloud PC. However, the sound ONLY comes from the speakers, regardless of macos settings. I really need to use a headset, but despite changing the output device, sound from Windows still comes out of the speakers!
