MyLife by Irish Life
Live a healthier, more active life with the MyLife app by Irish Life. MyLife will help you to understand more about your health, and pinpoint the small things you can do to improve your health and wellbeing.
REAL-TIME HEALTH SCORE
The Health Score is a scientifically calculated number from 1 (low) to 1,000 (high). The higher your Health Score, the healthier you are. The Health Score moves up or down in real-time, depending on how your body, emotional wellbeing or lifestyle data changes. Tracked over time, your Health Score is a good indicator of your overall health.
PERSONALISED HEALTH COACH
The MyLife Health Coach will offer you advice through the app and encourage you to make healthy little changes that will help you feel good.
TRACK ACTIVITY AND HEALTH STATS
You can track your physical activity, nutrition, stress levels and sleep, as well as body data and details of your mental wellbeing. The app has an integrated tracking functionality and you can also use wellknown tracking hardware or software, like Apple Health, GoogleFit and Fitbit to share your exercise, sleep etc. data with the app.
STAY MOTIVATED
The MyLife app uses motivation techniques from behavioural science and collaborative features from social networks. To ensure you remain active and engaged, you can participate in challenges and set health goals. The app will also provide you with personalised feedback and encouragement to keep on track.
The MyLife app by Irish Life is free to download and use.
The MyLife app is provided by Irish Life Financial Services.

Ratings and Reviews
Has improved
“Really slow app on the iPhone X. Takes about 1 to 2 minutes to view anything outside of your profile. If I wasn’t part of a challenge I would not use it.”
This is no longer the case. I felt I needed to come back and amend the review. It is much much faster and a good application. It’s nice that there are incentives to do exercise and eat better. Also it doesn’t bug you with notifications or emails which is great. You can go in and use it when you want to. There is a nice points system to enter draws for prizes and discounts.

Data is completely inaccurate
I’ve been using this app for a while now and it is incredibly inconsistent. At first it was apparently because it was getting data from my Garmin app as well as my Apple Health app when it should only be connected to one at a time. When I fixed this it improved but was still missing activities, step count etc. Some days it will record perfectly and then you’ll miss a week of activities. I contacted their support on a number of occasions but got nowhere. I joined a step challenge for four weeks where you need to do 10k steps a day to be entered into a draw. On day one I completed 15k steps but it registered less than 8k. On that first day some contestants had registered over 100k steps taken???. There is a discussion on the app for the challenge group and there appears to be hundreds of people having issues with their steps not being registered. I contacted support before the challenge started regarding discrepancies in my data and they suggested I had manually downloaded it. I proved this is not the case and am still waiting on an explanation. I would strongly advise against downloading and using this app. I had my doubts initially about the actual intent of Irish Life. It seems now to me it is simply to gather data on customers. Either that or it’s a badly executed prank on people!!
An interesting approach with unclear rating system that has some major flaws
I have been using the app consistently for number of weeks. Lots of parts of it is interesting and is well implemented.
I think some of the biggest queries users seem to have I based on the health score, hows it’s measured and how it’s used. Lots of people are against health insurance companies having access to their activity levels.
Some days can be very consistent. And then other days vary hugely. Losing a chunk of points due to a higher HR - not not being able to tell when or why that happens. For instance mine spiked after a cardio workout... and the app deducted points... for being active. But then you answer a few questions on mental health or food intake and your points can sky rocket. Some goals are repetitive and you could input the data required much faster.
Steps don’t seem to sync accurately between Apple Watch and this app. I can be told I have not met my target on my life but could be a few thousand steps ahead on my tracker.
The bot is predictable and if you have say 5 or 6 notifications pending, the bot can be slow to show the next message.
Recently some point prices to redeem vouchers have fluctuated quite a lot - I do wonder is this with the introduction of some vouchers in GBP and currency fluctuations but the “price seen” is not the “price paid”. Good to see new rewards being added tho.
Overall, I will keep using the app and am interested to see where it goes
