Introducing the new MyToyota app, a set of connected and remote services designed to make life easier for owners of a connectable Toyota model.

Communicate and manage your car wherever you are using the MyToyota app on your smartphone. Find your car, precondition your car’s cabin temperature remotely, optimise your driving style, receive driving analytics, service reminders and maintenance notifications – and so much more.

Toyota = Quality? This app is not production ready

The Toyota app needs some work. It really makes a negative experience for the customer with a series of annoying issues. It seems very much like a BETA (pre-production) software release. This does not align with Toyota reputation for Quality.

The application provides only a small number of functions, so it should really do these flawlessly.

Problem 1: the app needs to be started twice for it to show my car. The first time it acts like the app isn’t set up and you need to add your car. I’ve deleted the app etc before and the same issue persists.

Problem 2: there are frequent HTTP 500 errors on the plug-in status screen where you can see Range Status and modify charging schedules.

Overall, the application is sluggish, buggy and has performance issues which take from the overall Toyota app experience. This app needs to be fixed or you will continue to irritate customers with these trivial annoying issues.

Good functionality, could be better

Very good functionality, much improved since the MyT app, The remove control features are great on a brand new Toyota C-HR, but could be better. The app shows 4 actions in the shortcuts app, but whenever the used, it gives an error “No token found”. That would be much more helpful than having to open the app every time I need to use a remote services feature. Also, good that you increased the Start Climate timer from 10 to 20 mins, but how about you make it customizable so we can select the duration up to a certain limit? Fix the shortcuts and you will deserve 5 stars.

Also, since the last update, what’s up with the continuous location usage even when the app is sent to the background? The privacy settings are set to “while using”, so sending the app to background should stop using the location!

App stopped uploading trips

I started using the app last week when I received my new RAV4. Everything was working well until the weekend when my trips stopped uploading to the software. I don’t know why or how to resolve the issue. Please help

Hi, we are sorry for this inconvenience caused. One of the known reasons for missing trips for Toyota Smart Connect (HeadUnit) equipped vehicles is, when user profile is not synced with the head unit. If driving one, please ensure that your profile is recognized by the head unit and then proceed with driving or accept the Terms of Use (Blue screen).
