When you want detailed information about a particular button or switch, simply point the camera of your smartphone at that object or area containing the object.
An interactive pop up appears on the screen of your phone and with a single touch you are quickly provided with the information you require.
When a warning light is displayed on your vehicle's combination meter, the Nissan Driver's guide provides you with quick access to additional information.
Point the camera of your phone at the combination meter and with a single touch, you will have access to an explanation of all the warning lights.
You can also touch the dedicated warning light icon on the main screen.
The application provides the following features:
1. An Augmented Reality function that recognizes vehicle content through the camera of your smartphone.
This technology interacts with 3 main areas of the vehicle:
· Steering wheel
· Navigation and Audio system
· Climate control system
2. Descriptions of all the warning lights displayed on the vehicle’s combination meter.
3. An electronic version of the Quick Reference Guide, providing a brief overview of many important features of the vehicle, including instructions to follow if your vehicle has a flat Tyre.
Note
The Augmented Reality interacts with these main buttons and systems:
1. Steering wheel buttons
2. Audio system buttons
3. Navigation system buttons
4. Air Conditioning buttons
5. Parking Brake button
6. Combination meter
7. Start/Stop engine button
8. Buttons located between the steering wheel and the driver's door.
To take the best advantage of the Augmented Reality, you should be aware of the following points:
1. Use the application with sufficient exterior light conditions.
2. Always focus the camera on the complete button area of your vehicle. For instance in the case of the climate control and radio panel, please make sure the whole set of buttons is displayed within the screen.
3. If the camera does not immediately recognize the button area, please point the camera at the area again. Or move forwards and backwards slowly until the camera recognizes the element.
4. The Augmented Reality may not work correctly if reflections appear on the surface of the dashboard or sunlight goes directly into the camera lens.

Ratings and Reviews
Not great
I downloaded the app and on first launch it showed a tutorial. A little unnecessary if you ask me, but the first sign of trouble was that some of the text in the tutorial was so long that it extended off the screen and was unreadable. With no way to scroll to the right I had to guess what the text said.
After the tutorial it loaded an empty list that was full of NULL text. There are better ways to show things are loading that showing the word NULL everywhere. After it loaded the list and cleared the NULLs, I was able to find my vehicle, or at least what I think is my vehicle.
The LEAF car was easy to find, but it when it showed the list of models the pictures all looked the same and the descriptions weren’t intuitive enough for me to figure out the difference. Finally, I just guessed and downloaded a guide.
There was an annoying message and download screen next. Fine. Okay, so the guide. There’s an augmented reality feature, and some videos. None of the videos play and the augmented feature requires you to be in the car to use. It would be nice if the AR could just show the interior of a virtual car instead.
Now, this is partly on me for not looking at the screenshots in the App Store, but it took me a week to find the actual guide. All the actual helpful information is under the Assistance section with a warning triangle. I thought this was for breakdown assistance so I never tapped it. It was also confusing that the bottom navigation bar appears only in guides and not in the app as a whole. This is counter to how all other apps implement the nav bar.
Last quirks:
Sometimes when navigating around, the bottom buttons in the navigation bar shift down and become difficult to press because they’re under the home bar. Or text overlaps in the top left when switching apps.
Each time I download a guide it asks for the language when it could just use the device language or let me set it once at the start.
The app doesn’t let you swipe from the left side to navigate back a level. This is something apps have had since iOS 7 for about 10 years now.
Overall, a rocky app that is unintuitive but seems to have helpful information.
Must have app for Nissan Drivers
This app is excellent for any Nissan Drivers. It has everything you need to know about your Nissan without using your cumbersome hand manual. It’s easy to use showing you meanings of warning lights, easy to follow how-to’s and setup’s. It also includes an explore feature in case you can’t figure out what a certain button or feature does. Well done Nissan!
