I write about one review about every 5 years
I switched to NordVPN a few months ago and it’s been excellent. I used TunnelBear for years and it was fine. Admittably Nord is a bit of a learning curve to get the full benefit but it also way faster, more customizable, more local servers and seriously fast. I rarely write reviews but I appreciate the product and felt it’s worth a couple of minutes to congratulate them on making an excellent vpn. Peace
Used to be good, now not so much!
I have a subscription to NordVPN for a couple of years now, it used to be seamless and easy, but that has changed!
Now almost every time I try to search with google, the CAPTCHA page comes up (which it doesn’t when I disable Nord). There are some web pages that tell me I cannot access them (but once I disable Nord I’m straight in) and I have at least one game on my iPad that says it can’t connect to the server and won’t let me play (until I disable Nord).
I contacted their support, they said that when this happens, go to Nord, disconnect from the current server and try a different one, if that doesn’t work, they suggested I disable advanced security features in their app.... REALLY?
This is simply not good enough for a service that I’m paying for.
Get your act together Nord or me and a lot of other people will be looking elsewhere for our VPN.

Degradation of features
Unfortunately this app is not as secure and useful as it used to be. 1) No split tunnel, you can’t use second VPN connection along with NordVPN. It also limits capabilities of ad blockers like AdGuard that can’t run systemwide without their own VPN connection. 2) Auto-connect feature is useless, it keeps disconnecting silently and the only way to figure out that it’s disconnected is to open the app . 3) No custom DoH DNS. 4) The app randomly logs out from the account. It’s annoying when I’m on public work with no encryption whatsoever and have to log in putting myself at risk.
I’ll be leaving NordVPN as soon as my subscription ends, if not earlier due to this.
I contacted support regarding these issues but suggestions were pretty standard like reinstall the app and redo vpn profile. I did all of that but no joy.
