Excellent BUT Keeps Crashing

First of all I have the app 4 starts because I love the layout & design of the app and the recipes it contains are excellent and having a shopping list built in is perfect.
BUT... The big problem is that the app keep crashing.. REGULARLY.. and just to clarify, I’m using a brand new iPhone 7 so it’s definitely the app that’s the problem.

Here’s what I’ve found so far:
• The scrolling is a little glitchy and you have to scroll extremely slowly to let the app catch up, if you go too fast then it crashes!
• Sometimes it just crashes anyway.
• When you add a recipe to favourites and then go back to browse, it crashes almost always.
• When you move between categories to fast, (breakfast, snack, main), again it crashes.
• If you move between Browse, Favourites, shopping list, too fast again it crashes.
• I also noticed some of the recipes have a 0mins cook/prep time which has to be a mistake
• Some ingredients have a 0 measurement, maybe this is to signify a pinch or whatever but it needs to be clarified!

Overall this feels more like a very good looking beta app with great content as opposed to a finished product, the app feels like it’s constantly trying to catch up and I need to be very conscious about what I’m doing, how slowly I’m doing it and allowing the app time to catch up and come along with me.

If the crashing issue is sorted out then it’s perfect!! And I highly recommend it, but at the moment considering it’s paid, the experience is below expectations.

I’m going to assume that this is a packaged HTML app as opposed to a native app, at least that’s how it feels.. If that’s the case then you need to spend time working of the efficiency and weight of the code, it feels to me like the underlying JavaScript is trying to update something in the background on an ongoing basis and can’t keep up with the users interaction.. also I’m assuming the recipes are being collected possibly as a JSON feed from the website or something.. maybe the app is constantly trying to fetch this data for the thumbnails for the scrolling sections and that’s slowing it down?! Maybe you could find a way to build the images in? Or do a “updating thumbnails” load screen at the start so all the images and recipe names are up to date in the scroll list but the actually recipe isn’t loaded until the user clicks on one and then you have the “fetching recipe” screen.. just some thoughts and assumptions, if I’m wrong I’m wrong and whatever. But the glitchy scrolling and the app crashing needs to be fixed.
