Great, really convenient app

I don’t do reviews but the crystal clear design and desire for excellence really stand out. constant So many apps are confusing or get stuck. With a simple, visual screen, it is a pleasure to use. And they constantly work to make it even better. Once the app defaulted to my car when parking my wife’s car, so I got a ticket. They cancelled the ticket and improved the interface so it would never recur. If Steve Jobs did parking apps, this would be it.

Recent app/db change causes default car to change

I’ve been using this app for parking for years. Recently the app started choosing an old car reg instead of my current one and I got clamped as a result because the parking ticket was invalid. I have a couple of years of transaction history to show my default vehicle is my new one. When I tried to query this with parking tag they said nothing had changed on their end and my default car was set to my old car despite my transaction history showing I have been parking the new car as default for years now. Highlighting here to hopefully help others to avoid getting caught out. Parking tag offered no apology or reason why my default car changed recently despite my assertion it had. Dublin City Council confirmed to me others have reported the issue.

Hi, I am sorry to hear you have been clamped. Customers are responsible to add and remove vehicles to their account accordingly. On the app, if you swipe left on vehicles, it will give the option to choose a different car. You are not required to add a default vehicle. You can still appeal this with the DSPS. You would have to provide proof of parking, under the incorrect reg. If you require any assistance or have any further questions, please get in touch.

I never write reviews but this app is so bad. My first time using this app I realized that I was parking in the wrong place after I paid for parking so I paid them more for a different zone and it has no on screen display message that states that parking is active so I assumed I didn’t get charged I pay more until I realize that 30 euro has been charged from my bank and I have 11 euro account balance. There is no option to cancel parking tickets and customer service didn’t even do much other than ask me to call them even though I don’t have the time for that because of my busy schedule. I deleted the app after this incident and after a week I see that 2.40 euro has been taken from my card by this company even though I don’t use the app anymore. Horrible app horrible company.

Hi,The app prompts customers to check local signage before confirming parking. If you did however park in the correct zone, you can contact our helpdesk as soon as possible on 0818 300 161 and they can refund this transaction for you.If you chose to register for an account, then you would have to chose a low balance threshold and a top up amount. When the balance on your account goes below the threshold you chose, it tops up by the amount you selected. If you do not wish to avail of the auto top up facility, we have a range of pay as you go options for parking , please visit https://www.payzone.ie/parking/how-to-pay for more information on this.If you do not wish to use the app anymore, then please get in touch to close the account and refund the remaining balance to avoid any further top ups.

When I first came here I thought you had to pay and use a ticket each time. It always sucked getting stuck having to do that in the rain especially if there was a cue and you’re going back and forth so being able to connect my card to the app and pay that way makes it a million times easier. It also sends you a text when your time is almost up
