Glitchy
My go-to podcast app, but recently there is a weird glitch where the podcast app won’t play the selected podcast. For example - I have 2 podcasts downloaded, no matter how many times I try to play to most recently downloaded one, it will jump to the one below and play it instead.

Very solid podcast app
Good features: playback speed control goes up to 3x. Subscription, playlist and notification features make it easy to manage what playlists I want to listen to.
A soured experience
I always thought this app had the best user interface but recently not so much. Now these random ads come up when you’re using it and it’s so frustrating. This is because it’s not just a banner across the bottom of the screen, and for the duration of the ad you can’t access the app.
You can go premium to remove them but it’s a subscription service you sign up to rather than a once off payment, something I've done with other apps.
Go with the Apple podcast player. It’s much improved and none of these pesky ads for no extra cost.
