There is also a feature to store your own health information such as blood type, weight, height and to calculate your BMI. The app also includes a very useful feature that lists all the hospitals in Ireland and contact information for each hospital as well as emergency services information.

RCSI MyHealth has been developed by the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI). RCSI has been at the forefront of educating healthcare professionals since 1784. We began by being the home of surgical training for Ireland and now our college reflects the diversity of healthcare professions.

We are focused on improving health care education, training and research for the benefit of patients. Based in Dublin with four overseas campuses, RCSI is dedicated to the development of healthcare leaders who make a difference worldwide.

A Revolution In The Availability Of Concise Medical Information

This app is most definitely the future of educating the masses on general medicine.

Identifying over a thousand different diseases, all explained in layman's terms. This app is definitely a step in the right direction to eradicate general ignorance. It's revolutionising the Irish lifestyle, teaching people better than ever, with concise, easily accessible information, within their own comfort, people can access all the information they would otherwise have to sift through the Internet for hours to procure, or drive to their GP and get handed leaflet, upon leaflet.
Not only does it hold an encyclopaedia of both rare and common diseases, it also holds all the important numbers regarding health care in Ireland, all helplines, clinics, hospitals, associations, organisations and support groups.

It also has a great colourful and simple interface. It's incredibly easy to use, and contains the extra functions to store your important numbers, calculate your BMI, keep you updated on health news, and how you can get involved and help.

Though I do believe it could improved further with a search function that matches symptoms to possible diseases. And adapt the app for different countries. But I'm positive that with support and downloads, these factors will be added to the already phenomenal app.

Truly a testament to technology's role in education.

Phenomenal app

This is an absolutely fantastic app. In only a few months it has taken a strong hold and will revolutionise completely, not only Irish health, but the health of the entire world. It's really easy and simple to use, with incredible, accurate information. My two parents, who are doctors, strongly approve of the app and are excited to show it to their colleagues. All in all this is a wonderful app - I can't wait to take the first step in my medical career and start diagnosing!!

Lots of potential

The vision behind RCSI MyHealth is a fantastic one, to educate people on illnesses and to stop mass panic due to misinformation by large news networks. While the app offers a wide array of comprehensive and verified information on a very large range of conditions, it manages to keep the simplicity required in order for people not to be turned off the app instantly. It provides a good few other features too, such as emergency contacts list, a variety of different phone numbers for different services and a map containing locations of all hospitals in Ireland. However I feel for this app to fully reach its potential, there needs to be a symptom checker for people to input their symptoms to discover what they might have. I understand this would be hard to implement as a lot of people would instantly assume the worst, but it is a must need feature for this app to advance further.
