With each update the bring major changes without any concern about how devastating it can be to the retail business. In the latest update they literally doubled the size of the tiles. Now instead of displaying 12 tiles in on screen it only displays 6 tiles. With a retail shop having hundreds of products(tiles) on the POS app, this is not only highly inefficient but also costing us in less sales as a result. Long queues, lower process time, etc…I contacted the support and every time I do instead of solving the issue they just confirm that the updates are here to stay and won’t be changed.Just give us the option to change tile size. When Shopify 2.0 update was done they made all the tiles rectangular from square,. Square tiles display s24 products, rectangles 12 and now huge tiles display 6. It’s costing us lots of pages, scrolling and wasting time on the till system. All these are forcing to move our whole business to a better much more efficient till system which many other competitors offer.

Stop with the updates!!

We’ve used Shopify POS for five years, but the past year has been extremely frustrating. Frequent updates constantly change the checkout layout and product screen setup, causing confusion and delays at the till. Staff need regular retraining just to locate items or complete a sale—something that’s completely impractical in a busy retail environment. To make matters worse, the POS app regularly crashes and often needs to be deleted and reinstalled. You can imagine how disruptive that is during peak trading hours. It feels like Shopify POS is now geared toward very small businesses, with little regard for the operational realities of larger teams. The recent update to the backend website app has also made it less intuitive. As soon as we have the capacity, we’ll be moving away from Shopify entirely. A once-reliable system has become a source of constant disruption.

Complete system failure
meagq.q.q
Printer dropping in and out like it has a mind of its own.Card reader won’t connect. When it does it still won’t work. It’s a disaster. Shopify help said delete and reload the app…. This made matters worse. Now the app is deleted but won’t reload. It’s a disaster from start to finish
Developer Response
Hi meagq.q.q! Now that the Shopify POS app has been deleted, you should be able to re-install it from within the App Store. Once re-installed, please navigate to your iOS Settings > Shopify POS > Reset Account > toggle the Reset Account switch. Next, force-close the POS app (if it is open) and re-launch it. Should you still run into issues when loading the app, please reach back out to our Support team via shopify.com/contact and we would be happy to continue troubleshooting and/or loop in our Technical team for further investigation.

- Staff can now create orders for same-store pickup directly from the POS cart, and those orders connect to your buy online, pickup in store flow and customer notifications.
- We added Tap to Pay for merchants with multiple legal entities so you can accept contactless payments across all of them.
- We updated cash management with register-based sessions, native cash tracking, reason-coded adjustments, and new tools for automating custom workflows.
- We enabled cashing out gift cards under $15 where permitted in parts of the US and Canada.
- We added the ability to reprint past receipts for sales, returns, and exchanges exactly as they were first printed.
- Merchants in France must now install and activate the Comply app before processing any transaction to meet NF525 rules.
- We updated POS receipts for merchants in France and Spain so printed receipts show itemized VAT rates and a full VAT summary table by default.
- We updated product search to suggest words as you type. This is in limited release for select merchants.
- We added support for Epson TM-T88 IV through VII receipt printers through POS Hub or over your network.
- We updated the POS Terminal so it can authorize card payments with the processor when POS is in offline checkout mode
