Best text-to-speech app I found

I’ve been using this as a Masters student and a lawyer and honestly, it is a game changer for me. I was finding it hard to focus on long texts, and was daunted starting them so found myself procrastinating more and more. This gives an estimated time for reading a document in the corner, which is really motivating. (I know if I was reading it myself I would take 3-4 times as long!)

It also means you can ‘read’ and get through large amounts of text on the move if you need to. The process of importing texts is easy, it allows you to put files in different folders and rename them. I have largely been using it to read PDFs.

I REALLY like how you can adjust the speed to exactly what you want. This app seems to offer much faster reading speeds than other ones I looked at, so I have been reading at about 400 words per minute (after a relatively short time building up to that). There are also a good few voices to choose from, and I have been mixing that up a bit for variety.

You can look at plain text, single word or the original text as you’re reading. The only negative for me so far is that I have found looking at the original text (which I would much prefer, so I can see footnotes and references in context) does not work very well. Plain text option works perfectly, but you lose the view of the text as a whole, including formatting, headings etc.

Anyway, overall a massive thumbs up from me!

It’s so helpful for students

I’m a student who has a load of homework and projects so and this made it so easy I started using it a while ago and it was a bit weird because I didn’t actually know how to use it but I came back to it today and it was actually the most amazing experience ever have a trouble of concentrating and reading and it’s just made it some much easier I love it use it it so helpful

Best text to voice app on the market but wish Premium had more features

I’ve been using this as an aspiring writer for screenplays and novels and I must say it’s the best text to voice app I’ve used so far. The voice options are pretty great and standard to what you would hear in an audiobook. Perfect if like me you want to listen back to your work, to check for tone, grammar, sentence structure and so on. Only thing I wish is that Premium came with more options, voice wise. Such as a young male & young female narrators which would be great for stories consisting of teenage protagonists. I think many people would be delighted with this option so please consider it! Also getting a professional voiceover actor on your app would be much more appreciated than guest starring Gwenyth Paltrow 😅 ( who of course has other talents so no offense ).
