Friendly competition with a like-minded sporting community is a big part of Strava's appeal. More than just a GPS, Strava shares your rides and runs automatically, so it's really low maintenance. See your rank on your favourite segment, join distance challenges, and follow your friends, pros and even foes. As they say, "If it’s not on Strava, it didn’t happen".
Simply the best
Been using strava for a few years now and it is one of the best apps I have ever used to track my sport activities.
I love swimming, cycling, running and walking and being able to log them all in one place is so convenient. Looking back on all your activities to sees your speed, time, elevation gain and more is a great feature allowing in dept analysis of any workout or activity.
Segments make it unique with timed sections of road or path which make going hard seem like a game and getting yourself on the virtual leaderboard is a feat in itself with sole professionals athletes setting record breaking times.
Great app, few bugs!
Overall I think this is a great app. I miss the automatic post to Facebook option when uploading your run, but can be done after using the share function so it’s fine but was just more convenient the way it could initially be done. My one main issue is that lately, when I have one new notification, the app tells me I have 3! A 3 badge icon appears on my app (iPhone) and I click in, but there’s only one. It’s minor, but irritating 😂 as it wasn’t happening before. Accuracy also with tracking on your phone & Apple Watch - they don’t automatically connect and the run stat info does not appear on my watch screen, so I constantly have to check my phone which means trying to get it out of my flip belt around my waist to check pace & distance. I have the app installed on my watch so I don’t understand why it doesn’t sync and appear as I run on both devices simultaneously. I did start the app on both devices on my last run, but it recorded two “different” runs and doubled my calories burned 😂 I’ll take that if it actually doubles my calorie burning without doubling my effort 😜 anyway like I said, minor things and genuinely I love the app and recommend it to all my running friends ✌🏼
