the HUB Controller 4+

Basic app that allows you to control some things from your phone without having to go on the main thermostat. But there are some functionality flaws (mostly to do with connectivity) and several glaring UI/UX shortcomings... for example the temperature setting is fiddly and doesn’t always work, scheduling needs lots of work (why is the “day” starting at 5am?), you should be able to copy day settings across multiple days, you should be able to do a different “holiday” setting, etc. The team seem to be very focused on installs (that’s all I see across Facebook), but nothing about getting customer feedback on the app and making improvements.

Only gets 3 stars. Fantastic idea, but functionality is a problem. Several times I have had to use the actual controller instead of my phone as the hub controller didn’t respond to the app.

I would like to see a boost option for 1,2 and 3 hours instead of just 1 hour (60 mins) and also to tell you how long is left on the boost option.

Most boiler controllers have a boost (up to 3 hours), advance, auto, on and off. The hub controller only has boost, on and off (off only turns the heating off if it is already on through boost or on). It would be great if these options were incorporated into the app

This is really crap. No other word for it.
Cumbersome and fiddly app controls.
Non responsive menu.
You probably only have it because you got the hub system free. If you paid money, sorry but it was wasted.

On my (very basic) old system i had the option to control my zones as follows:
“Off”,
“Boost”,
“Constant ON” or
“Timer”

This pathetic system has no “off” if you have pre-programmed ON Times.
I.e. if you turn the system off, it will automatically turn on again at the next programmed time.
So you have two options to avoid this,
1) you have to go into the menu and select “Holiday Mode” or
2) delete all pre-programmed ON Times.

How stupid is that?

The temperature readings are not correct and the time lapse between app and hub is ridiculous.
The thermostat wall unit screen is visible only when looking straight on, so I have to bend down and the kids have to stand on tip toes.
The program schedule can’t be copied day to day - it must be entered individually for each day Monday to Sunday!!!
and what were they thinking starting every day at 5am?????
This system is beyond bad and will be returned. I wish I could give ZERO stars
