Description

The Self-Compassion App is for you if you want to feel happier, calmer & more connected. Whether you get caught up in cycles of stress and anxiety, regularly give yourself a hard time or struggle to relax and enjoy the moment – this app can help.

The app includes scientifically-validated practices from Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), with 50+ tools to help you when life gets hard. Be guided by Drs Chris Irons and Elaine Beaumont – leading authorities on self-compassion, who collectively have 40+ years of experience as therapists and have helped tens of thousands of people.

This app has undergone a nationwide study, with participants showing significant reductions in stress, anxiety, self criticism, and increases in wellbeing. Anyone can develop self-compassion and enjoy all its benefits – we look forward to showing you how.

Why self-compassion?

We are often our own harshest critic, talking to ourselves in ways that we would never do our close friends. Given that we spend more time with ourselves than anyone else, isn’t it strange that many of us don’t treat ourselves with the same level of kindness, care and support as we do our close friends? Now is your time to start.
With evidence based ideas and exercises from CFT, this app will teach you how to cultivate compassion for yourself and others. Through the course, you’ll learn how to strike a balance between self improvement & self acceptance: teaching you how to have a realistic but kind view of difficulties that arise in life, and giving you the confidence you need to achieve your goals in life, work and relationships.

A toolkit for managing the ups and downs of life.

Very helpful, very different

I am training into psychology and use this as part of a CFT group, I find it is an excellent professional tool and a personal tool as well. It has helped me immensely in my personal life. It is very different to other apps, it walks you through it step by step. I like that you can choose either Elaine or Chris’ voice, it’s interactive as you can type your own thoughts into it and the heart rate variability feature is really cool! My only issue was that I did the three day trial initially and a couple of weeks later I came back to the app and it had a button for a three day trial so I assumed I was getting the option to try another three days, but it actually went ahead and charged my card the full amount when I clicked it. Saying that, I am glad that I got it and I would recommend the full app so it was a happy mistake! It’s really well developed and research-backed. Elaine and Chris are fantastic practitioners and I think this approach is fantastic. It can help in areas where CBT has not. Thank you for this resource!

Developer Response ,

Your acknowledgment of The Self-Compassion app as an excellent professional and personal tool is heartening. We're delighted to know that it has been beneficial in your psychology training, particularly as part of a CFT group. Your detailed insights into the features, such as the voice options, interactivity, and the heart rate variability feature, are much appreciated. We apologize for any confusion regarding the trial, but we're grateful that it led you to discover the full potential of the app.

Deep Dives and 180's ,

A super helpful resource with all you need to learn compassion,

I’ve used a number of apps over the years and this one is really useful:

It has a realty fun heart rate variability tool that also helps improve breathing,

The self compassion course is clear and in easy bite size parts,

The morning and evening journal is a gentle reminder to take note of how your day will/has been and so far I’ve enjoyed using it,

As a therapist I’ve studied the area of compassion for a number of years so I’m probably more enthusiastic than most about the apps uses,

I can see it being a helpful addition to me personally as a way to living compassion from the inside out so that I can then use this with clients in my practice,

The first three days are free and enough to get an idea of whether it’s for you or not,

Good luck

Compassionate support in your pocket

This is the second year I have signed up to the annual subscription. I learn something new every time I use the course modules or the readily available tools. Both Chris and Elaine’s voices are soothing and calming. This is a fantastic app for learning how to be more self compassionate but also for support when you need it.

Developer Response ,
