Food waste is one of the great challenges of our time, Too Good to Go is one way to contribute to a solution. The app provides an overview of shops and restaurants in your area that have surplus food. Those outlets put together a surprise bag at a lower price and you can order it right within the app. This way you can protect the environment and discover new places at the same time.
A Massive Success
This app is amazing! I only have good things to say about it: from the interface and ease of use, to its environmentally-conscious ethos, to the value it provides for customers. By charging such low prices for end of day goods, everyone wins. As a customer, I get to try foods from places I might not have gone before for a low price and sample what they have, while also getting great value on some of my favourite spots. Once you are happy to experiment and to perhaps wait to eat at more off-peak times, you can really reap the benefits of this app. It’s also a great guilt-free way to treat yourself! I hope that even more businesses sign up as it becomes better known, but even as it stands there is something for everyone.

The app works fine, the idea behind is good, but in practice I was more disappointed than happy with my choices. The reason I am giving one star is because the final result hasn’t been positive for me, I had 2 good interactions and 3 bad ones. I left a thought description explaining the reasons why I left one stars, and in the end I realized my comments would not help other customers decide if they should get the bag or not. I believe people should be allowed to read the comments about the bags as the stars are misleading when the place has had few costumers. I was trapped in a situation where I got plain old croissants for the same price I could have gotten in the supermarket (and they would be a lot fresher). Same with a sushi tray that was just shameful. Paying for food that is too good to go should also mean that the food is not so good for regular customers therefore they should not cost the same. I have given up the app after today’s disappointment, the hotel treated me as if I was begging for food, they had the pastries in a basket and provided no bags at all. If there is no control regarding which business are allowed in the platform and if clients are not allowed to express thei truly experience there is no point in purchasing anything
