Music player buttons inaccessible when device is connected to a speaker and/or amazon echos

As stated in the title, the play/pause and previous/next buttons do not work nor the widget does not update live when your device is connect to a speaker or smart speakers (amazon echos). When I click the widget to update the artwork, the app just re-directs me to my music player (spotify) and it disconnects my phone from the speakers. Once it’s disconnected, that’s only when the artwork updates. It’s honestly quite frustrating. Nonetheless, the app works fine when your phone is not connected to any speakers. But an update to fix this issue would be greatly appreciated!
