Way back in the mid-‘90s, Match.com kickstarted the online dating revolution. Since then, millions of singles have used the site to find partners. Now, the app makes it easier than ever to strike up conversations and find the exact type of relationship you’re looking for.
Match allows you to add as little or as much information about yourself as you want. State what kind of relationship you’re looking for and fill in basic information: age, sexual preference and location. Match also asks questions that might affect long-term compatibility – about backgrounds and values, as well as lifestyle topics such as religion, salary and interest in having children.
Then, when you set your preferences for potential partners, you can sort and refine potential matches by their responses.
In your profile, you can share even more about yourself by writing a small blurb, showing items on your Bucket List, or selecting the hobbies and activities you enjoy (a perfect ice breaker). Match then offers you potential daily matches – and lets you search for your own, filtering out those who don’t exactly match your criteria.
When you find someone you’re interested in, letting them know is as easy as tapping the heart to indicate you’re smitten – or tapping the speech bubble to send a message. With a feature called Nearby, Match can even use the location of your phone and shows you other members you might have crossed paths with.
