In iOS 14 and iPadOS 14, widgets have been totally redesigned to give you more information at a glance.
And now you can add them to your Home Screen and to iPad’s Today View, right alongside your apps. Here are a few of our favourites.
Feel better by de
Looking for meal inspiration? Wellness app feel better by de has widgets that showcase new plant-based recipes or the next dish in your meal plan.
Depending on the widget’s size, see at a glance how long the dish will take to make, how many people it serves or portions of vegetables it contains, or get recommendations of other recipes you may enjoy.

Wikipedia
Who knew encyclopedias could be such fun? Wikipedia offers three widgets: Picture of the Day presents photos of everything from sea snails and asteroids to illustrations for Edgar Allan Poe’s The Raven.
On this Day recaps moments in history. And Top Read highlights the day’s most popular story, so you can see what the whole world is learning about.

Calm
Add a little serenity into your day, or get help settling into slumber. Calm’s widget gives you one-tap access to Daily Calm (a 10-minute guided meditation), breathing exercises to help you unwind and snooze-inducing Sleep Stories.

Blinkist
Get your daily dose of knowledge with Blinkist, which summarises non-fiction bestsellers in 15-minute Blinks.
Its widget recommends Blinks for you to dive into based on your previous preferences in the app. They’re perfect to read on your next coffee break.
