Hologo
The AR Library for Education
Want to understand how the human body works or see the International Space Station hovering over your sofa in augmented reality (AR)?
Hologo was designed for students, teachers and life-long learners, although you don’t need to be in education to enjoy a sneak peek at the Great Wall of China or to examine the inner workings of the human eye.
The experiences are grouped into categories such as biology, mathematics, animals and so on, which Hologo makes it easy to navigate. You can also reposition the models, which is useful if the app pops them in a place that isn’t ideal.
Where things get really useful is when the AR objects come with spoken soundtracks, as they do in subjects such as biology or physics.
It’s not immediately obvious how a DC motor works if you’re just looking at it, even with the helpful labels showing you which bit is which. Stick an expert in front of a mic, though, and everything is illuminated.
Hologo’s library is already substantial and covers everything from the circulatory system to the solar system, so there’s plenty to explore.
