It was promising a few years ago, but nothing changed.
The UI only appears after sync so you could wait for it to load, not knowing how it’s going to look like or what options will be there.
Eventually, there are so few (random) options, that it’s useless.
Chromecast is capable of almost anything but the controls are “volume”, and if you’re lucky, once in a while a second set of controls appear that actually let you remote control it. But only sometimes - and no one knows why or when.
It can connect to any device in the world, but then disconnects from it randomly. Gives only the most basic on/off switch.
Automations between devices is impossible.
Where you would expect settings you get a “report a problem” link, and no settings.
There easiest setting to get to is “add more homes”, but who has that many homes?
Must open the app to preform actions. So easier to use the apple home app, who has even less out-of-the-box options but is at least available as a shortcut.
Google, please invest in this app. It shows how abandoned it is.
Missing features like routines based on country
It's such an annoyance to be unable to edit my routines because the setting just dissapered and I figured because of my Country of residence. This needs a fix. Why should I have that basic feature missing because where I live? Simply annoying.
