This app is great if your fitness goals are cardiovascular, the app hardly acknowledges intense strength workouts.

Hi there! Sorry for the late reply.
Activity Path (the green path across the screen) on Streak tab is a combination of your logged workouts, their intensity and their impact on your fitness. It is recommended to stay somewhere inside of it.
The app is TSB-model based. It takes into account your age, gender, resting HR, HR during activity, and VO2max, when it's available. Most relevant is the information of the past 60 days. The more heart rate data we have, the more accurate your Activity Path - that is why we have so many different workout types in our Watch app.
The formula we use for the baseline is an industry-standard.
Since the formula is heavily dependant on your heart rate measurements during the workout it is incredibly well suited for all the cardio workout types. On the other hand, no matter what device you're using to track, it will prove difficult to assess any anaerobic workout types such as strength training, because such workouts put more strain on your muscles than cardiovascular system. If you feel like your efforts and the strain on your body are not adequately represented after intense strength training you can always adjust it through the use of the RPE function (Rate of Perceived Exertion) inside your workout details.
