The Lee County Sheriff’s Office, located in Opelika, Alabama, is a full-service law enforcement agency serving a population of over 174,000 people in one of Alabama’s top five fastest growing counties. Located in the east central portion of the state, Lee County covers 616 square miles and is the home of Auburn University.


The Lee County Sheriff’s Office has 204 employees, 97 of whom are sworn deputy sheriffs. Nine members of the Sheriff’s Office command staff are graduates of the prestigious FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. Operating from the W.S. “Buck” Jones Administration building, the Sheriff’s Office maintains an around-the-clock law enforcement presence in rural Lee County.
