Description

This app makes use of the publicly available NASA REST API. This app makes it easy to visualize some of the APIs that return image information.

The Astronomical Picture of the Day is typically an image but can sometimes be a video.

* The date for the Astronomical Picture of the Day can be selected from today all the way back to July 16, 1995.
* Four Rovers are covered: Spirit, Opportunity, Curiosity, and Perseverance.
* The earth-date can be selected for each rover to view images of that date.
* For Rovers that are no longer active, you can still view images since the active dates for the rover are still selectable.

Keep an eye on this app as it will continue to be updated with new categories and anything that may have changed.

Note: The DEMO_KEY (that's the actual key) can be used but only allows for a limited number of API calls which translates directly into the number of images that can be viewed per hour and per day. You can go to the NASA API site and apply for a free API Key which gives a much greater limit (1000 request per hour).

Please take a look at the About page for more information.
