The Witness is a single-player game in an open world with dozens of locations to explore and over 500 puzzles. This game respects you as an intelligent player and it treats your time as precious. There's no filler; each of those puzzles brings its own new idea into the mix. So, this is a game full of ideas.

Masterpiece
This game is a refreshing zen walk and a good brain exercise. When all other games are fighting for your attention with cheap tricks, this game blocks out the noise and lets you focus on a quality experience. This is a true masterpiece.
Annoying
Apart from the beautiful graphics and visuals, the game is repetitive and boring and sometimes too cryptic. In some areas, such as the ruins, if you get the puzzle on the screens wrong, they go blank and that’s that, what?! Why? Movement is sometimes erratic- you want to move forward and for some reason you go backward. It would have been better had they used a variety of puzzles and not just those annoying and repetitive mazes. The game is not interesting enough to make one persevere even if some of the mazes are more difficult. There are no hints, no help. The creators think that making something too cryptic shows how clever they are, but in fact it shows that they are are pompous “nudnikim”.
