It definitely works!

To give you a perspective - to me recognizing intervals, let alone recognizing a note - is pure sorcery!
I am a musician, but I’m a drummer, so I’m good with rhythm not pitches, but it was always a dream of mine to have perfect pitch.
So I downloaded this app, and lo and behold - I can identify F, B and C 99% of the time, after only 4 days of playing (I certainly hoped for less!).
And it’s pretty fun as a pass time too.

Give it a try
Try not to get discouraged, the first day will probably be a guess work anyway, but second day you will start to recognize at least one note pretty consistently.
Start with 7 notes, or 5 notes, and 1 octave (in settings)

To developer:
Great job! I think you can ask some money for the app :)
Consider adding some sounds like piano or guitar in addition to sine tone.
