Overall, the app’s great and I use it on a daily basis. I’ve found recent updates like editing and reacting to messages, sending one-time pictures, and recording to be very useful, but there’s still a minor detail that puts a dent in the user experience. It’s well known that users can decide whether others can see if they’ve read their texts (by disabling the blue check marks). Although I find that feature useful, there is a slight issue I believe needs fixing: once someone has replied to your text, a blue check mark should automatically appear even if you disabled that option. If someone has replied to your text, they’ve obviously seen it, so there is no need for the check marks to remain gray. I believe this update is needed because a full conversation where both sides only see gray check marks might be less enjoyable and friendly, and can even feel a little hostile. Hope you will take it into consideration. 🙏
iPhone 12 issues

I have used WhatsApp daily for years. This year I treated myself to an iPhone 12 and have continual problems with the microphone. A number of friends record their messages instead of writing. Frequently, WhatsApp becomes muted and I can’t hear the messages. I restart the phone, hard-reset the phone, turn the microphone on and off and then ask the person to write the message instead. Later the app starts working properly. I have reinstalled the program using the backup and reinstalled it with no backup (thus losing all info). Apple can’t help me with this since the microphone works in other apps at the same time. Very irritating!
Honest review of WhatsApp.
Daria THE ORIGINAL
As someone who hates iMessages and just doesn’t know how to use it, I use WhatsApp like a normal person on the daily. The app itself isn’t really aesthetically pleasing, its logo is kinda ugly and the in-app itself features aren’t pretty though customizable. You get used to it though. The app itself, however, is nice. It’s just another normal chatting app where you can call, text, send videos and photos, upload statuses, (though almost no one uses that,) make group chats, make channels,(which I think, is very useless. Literally why would I need a channel on WhatsApp.) and much more. It’s decent, but you get used to it and you manage. My overall rating on the app is 6/10, because the app is kinda boring. The overall concept of apps where you can chat with people and nothing else is underwhelming and boring. Anyways, Stan p1harmony, IM FINISHED.
Some minor things

WhatsApp is generally a very useful and reliable app, but there are a couple of issues that should be improved. Sometimes, when searching for people’s names in chats, the search function freezes or gets stuck (iPhone 16), which can be frustrating. In addition, there should be an option to block or disable the ability for others to leave voice messages. This would give users more control over how they prefer to communicate and avoid unnecessary or unwanted voice recordings.
We update the app regularly to fix bugs, optimize performance and improve the experience. Thanks for using WhatsApp!
