Great app
the only annoying thing that the wifi password update option is missing and its very frustrating to reset and connect each camera from beginning over again in each password changing.
App is reasonable but subscription service doesn’t work
The app work ok for one camera. I wish I had better control of thresholds and recording times. For example, I would like to start recording on motion and stop only when motion stops. The 3 minute threshold means it records on motion, then stop after 3 minutes even if motion continues, then after 3 minutes of dead time it starts recording again, even though motion continued during the whole time.
My biggest gripe is tha I registered for the basic cloud service but it still shows me as not having a subscription. AppStore shows the subscription. The app also doesn’t allow me to subscribe again, saying I have an active subscription. But the subscription doesn’t work.
Contacted the Yi service, some back and forth with very slow response time and no resolution yet for 11 days since the ticket was opened.
Shady
They introduced ads and now the app does not function AT ALL, it freezes on initial screen, crashing or periodically asking for email verification that NEVER arrives, or just logs you out randomly on weekly basis, I need to reinstall the app almost daily to make it work again for a several days. They do not offer any way to remove ads which is illegal, they still upload 6 seconds preview to the cloud without the user consent and they try hard to make SD card obsolete to pay for their cloud service.
And when the app finally function it takes forever to access the cameras or playback footage, defeats the whole purpose of a security camera or baby monitor.
Thanks for creating e-waste YI for your lack of software quality.
