It’s been years since Evernote first won us over as a really great notes app. Since then, it has remained a great tool to keep track of information, while keeping us impressed with new features across iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac.

The app integrates photos, images, web pages and audio clips into your notes – regardless of whether they’re typed or handwritten – and lets you effortlessly group musings into notebooks, which makes getting organised easier.

Tagging makes it easy to find what you need, when you need it.

Inside the app you’ll find tons of organisational and template options, making Evernote flexible enough for an endless number of workflows. And everything you create in Evernote can be shared.

Use the app to handle checklists, to-do lists, memos, agendas, class notes, recipes and instructions for your babysitter or pet-sitter. Notes can be everything from text to a quick sketch to a few screenshots or photos.

Evernote’s built-in camera feature can scan and digitise dozens of items, such as receipts, letters, whiteboards, drawings and handwriting. There’s a handsome dark mode too.

Every item you create in Evernote is searchable – find what you’re looking for whether you made it days or years ago. You can even set a reminder inside a note to bring you the info when you need it.

On Apple Watch, use Evernote’s app to dictate a note or view recently created and updated notes.

Evernote is free to use. Subscribers to Evernote Premium get 10 gigabytes of uploads each month, an unlimited number of devices to use the service on, offline access, the ability to annotate PDFs, the ability to scan and digitise business cards and much more.
