Edit@20-01-2024:- That's unfortunate. I have other content blockers, and so need a way to turn off only Bolt for certain websites. Anyway, thanks for maintaining this app and keep up the good work!

Edit@13-01-2024:- How to turn off Bolt for specific websites? In Safari, there is no such option. I didn't upgrade to latest version because of this. Or will I get that option only after upgrading the app?

Hello user.mz! First of all, thanks for using Bolt since several months now and thank you for your updated comment with your question.

The behavior of the filters changed (on Apple side, presumably with iOS17.x) thus the whitelist wasn't working as expected sometimes. In order to whitelist website now you can do it directly within Safari. It's explained in the app but I'll give it to you below here:

Here is how to do it temporarily: open the Safari app, go to the website you want to whitelist,
tap the "aA" button on the side of the address bar and then select "turn off content blockers".
Here is how to do it permanently: open the Safari app, go to the website you want to whitelist, select "website settings" and then turn off the "use content blockers" switch.

Hello user.mz! Thanks for your feedback, I'll try to answer below:

1. I did remove the custom whitelist/blacklist with the 4.0 release as I wasn't 100% happy with how it was and I need a bit more time to make it better, or at least try. Hopefully I'll try to release it with a 4.1 within 4 to 10 days. Keep an eye for this update. (Also note that for India way more ads should be blocked by default since the update)

2. I'm not sure what's the issue here. The download of the lists is faster than before and the configuration inside the app should be about the same time as before. The final settings with toggle hasn't changed. I'll try to further improve the configuration.

3. It was a request from several users to automatically check the availability of updated filter upon without needing to manually refresh it. It does check at each launch if there is new filters, if so they get downloaded otherwise nothing happen (and if you try manually a message let you know you are up to date). Maybe I'll add a setting for users to disable this automatic behavior.

I'll try to edit my comment when a new update is released and hopefully you'll find Bolt great again!

i don’t find this extension helpful so want to delete this but unfortunately no delete option given

Hello 25680016, I'm sorry to hear Bolt does not meet your needs. You can either disable the extension in the same way you activate it (Settings application > Safari > Extension) or you can simply delete the application.
