Bit crippled for both users & moderators

• If you go to Lemmy’s now official client Voyager (formerly known as WefWef) and visit any community like ‘technology’ for example then the search bar itself shows c/technology which is same with u/user for profiles as well. Since, the autofill function is still true when mentioning communities or users, those from or to other instances can still be shown when not on the same instance after the respective has been mentioned.

• Editing a sublemmy description is actually still an issue with Arctic if one is not merely filling in only the viewable area of the box with two lines.

/u/ and /c/ are intentionally not supported in Arctic. The proper format for tagging a user is @user@instance, and a community is !community@instance. I chose not to support the format you mentioned in order to encourage users to utilize the official Lemmy tagging format. The issue with the format you mentioned is that off-instance users viewing from a federated instance would encounter a broken link, or worse a link to the wrong page due to the instance being omitted.

As for editing and creating communities in Arctic, this is possible, though it’s placement may needs to be moved. You can edit any community you moderate through the menu on the community feed, and you can create new communities under the profile tab. You can also view and manage reports for your communities in the mod zone.

I’m looking into supporting translations in a future release now that the translation API is available in iOS 17.
