AroundMe allows you to quickly find out information about your surroundings.
How many times have you found yourself in need of finding the closest Petrol Station?
AroundMe quickly identifies your position and allows you to choose the nearest Bank, Bar, Petrol Station, Hospital, Hotel, Movie Theatre, Restaurant, Supermarket, Theatre and Taxi.
AroundMe shows you a complete list of all the businesses in the category you have tapped on along with the distance from where you are.
For every listing you can choose to see its location on a Map, view the route from where you are, add the information to your contact list or even email the information to a friend.
The Nearby listing allows you to find information using Wikipedia about what is around you.

NB: When AroundMe Weather push feature is active the app make a continue use of GPS running in the background that can dramatically decrease battery life.

I have used this app in india where I live and now in canada on holiday. It covers up every thing, solves your queries in a jiffy with full details. I have been able to help strangers find an address or restaurant when they ask. In India it is a regular practice for people to ask as the st. Names etc are not very clear for that matter never there sometimes. Very very helpfully. A must to have. If they can pick a landmark near the address queried then it would help 60 to 75% easier to find the place.
