Beside covering the span on how and where the AI has been touching the daily life of the human society ( might look ignorantly brief touch points as of today ), David and Daniel has capsulated a very broad perspective on the factors what lead us to the present situation.
The confident economic policy advocates of the capitalist principles selling the idea of individualism has turned out to be charlatans with a very myopic and self greed as defining values with no interest towards anyone beyond self has been defining the course of United States of America ( which in turn sets the course of path for the majority of nations on this earth ).
Book has been elaborative to explain that how AI as a technology in itself is not evil but the way control of the same is shaping up in the human society, it cannot be remain alienated from inherent human vices.
The predictions of the bleak future of the middle class populated on earth is summed up with the practical and believable anecdotes. Where how the ideas like globalisation, outsourcing, loan & debt, etc promoted by economic forces in past has turned out to be gloomier than merrier for majority of the population.
The data facts stressed in the book might be daunting yet convincing, that why one should be scared on how the development on the AI is shaping up around us.
This is a good read.
An Absolute boon!
I am incredibly grateful to be living in an era where I don’t have to sit still and read. As a corporate employee, the time to sit down with a book comes seldom. However, I have a strong desire to meet interesting characters, preferably from different eras, and immerse myself in their worlds so that my life doesn’t become a monotonous mess. I want to indulge in as much classic literature as possible, alongside my comfort reads like Agatha Christie and James Herriot.
That’s why Audible is an absolute boon for me! Most classics are available for free with my subscription, allowing me to use my credits on contemporary literature whenever my mood suggests to do so. Even without credits, the audiobooks available aren’t prohibitively expensive! Overall, I have had a fantastic experience with Audible so far!
I’m giving this four stars because I wish there were speech-to-text features for quick note-taking. Additionally, seamless integration with Kindle notes would be ideal when a book is purchased or available in the user’s Kindle app or device. I also hope they add audiobooks of all Agatha Christie novels, especially those narrated by Hugh Fraser. If you are an Agatha Christie audiobook fan, you’ll understand why this is important. After all, her books are among the most widely read worldwide.
Of course, it would also be great to make the less popular classics available as audiobooks. I believe it’s only a matter of time before these books become accessible.
