Album Introduction :

Crying Nut is an influential punk band from South Korea. They have performed together since 1995 in a small club 'Drug' located in Hongdae. The concept of "Indie band" had not existed at the time and their first compilation album with Yellow Kitchen, "Our Nation Vol.1" became one of the very first indie albums of South Korea.

Those young boys first met each other when they were school kids. The years have passed. 25 years of life in one indie band has been packed with ups and downs. Relesed over a hundrend songs; held thousands of concerts. Their first studio album with the revolutional hit song "Speed Up Losers" raised over 100,000 sales which was unprecedented in the indie history at the time. "Oh! What a Shiny Night" that was released 19 years ago is still sung again by several artists. The roads they had taken have become a history and a record of the Korean indie scene.

The Korean indie scene has been known as its short-lived bands but Crying Nut has been keeping their place over 25 years next to them. Having neither a single conflict, nor a member replacemnet, Crying Nut unpretentiously celebrates their 25th Anniversary by presenting their best album with selected 16 tracks out of their numerous songs.

Starting with two pre-released tracks - "Oh! What a Shiny Night" and "Isn't That Good?", the album is consisted with not only renowned hit songs like "Circus Magic Clowns", "Speed Up Losers" and "Luxembourg", but also some unfamilar songs such as "Sooni Heading to the Cosmos", "Dog Talk", "The Poppy". They are all re-recorded utilizing modern techniques while staying faithful to the original versions.

The album cover drawn by the guitarist Sang Myun Lee is a witful collection of their previous album covers' self-parodies and is included in the booklet. If you find the re-recorded songs interesting, you may have some fun finding different points in the album cover from the originals.

This long-lasting band - Crying Nut does not stay only in people's memories; they are still progressing. The album also represents their changes and improvements throughout their previous concert experiences so that the one who listens may not just fall into old impressions. The music stays still while all the others changing. If we think about it, it's a band with touching memories. It's a band standing by our side even today and a band advancing towards the future.
