What’s New

Version 279.0

Tapping any text placed between backticks `like this` will now copy the contents to your clipboard for easy sharing! Useful for when you want to type a looong message but want a specific chunk of it to be copy-and-pasted somewhere else.

Along with the above, let’s look *back* and *tick* down some of the other things we’ve fixed up lately:

- We now support multi-image embeds on iOS, finally bringing parity with other platforms. No need to say ‘open this’ after you send a multi-image Bluesky post just so your iPhone friends see every pic in it.

- Speaking of image embeds, tapping single images in those embeds sometimes didn’t expand them. Now they do! Hooray.

- Fixed an issue where someone’s avatar was missing from push notification content, letting you enjoy your friend’s beautiful(?) avatar smack-dab in the middle of your notification tray.

- Fixed a crash that occurred when opening DMs with users who had default emojis in their status.

- Resolved an issue where answering calls using the fullscreen iOS CallKit UI (aka: answering a Discord call when you’re outside Discord) could result in no audio or video, which we’ve heard might be important when calling.

We post these and a LOT more fixes on a regular basis over at dis.gd/PatchNotes

Editors’ Notes

Easy to understand, quick to set up and slick to use, you can create individual groups for your friends. Originally making its name among videogame players, these days, it’s used by everyone.

The perfect app

Discord is the best hands down other than the one change. They made to the way you make your discord IDs with not using the number system anymore for multiple people could have the same names but appended by different numbers. It is an exemplary app. No chat app can even come close what I understand why they made that change in order to bring it in line with the systems of other apps and other apps a number is put in front of your name. It just makes things easier, especially for newcomers. Finding the idea and putting in numbers is not exactly intuitive for everyone but other than that Discord is perfect features, functionality and ease of use, including accessibility I am visually impaired and discord works flawlessly. It is optimise perfectly. There are no and labelled buttons. There is nothing that I cannot click on and every thing works smooth

Discord

Discord is a social space among which you can interact as a community, as friends, or anything else alike. Discord's moderation is mediocre, with barely any attention spent on many users being reported as harassers, p***philes, and even r***sts. These kinds of users explore the foundations of Discord frequently, and often dwell in servers that advertise themselves as an "e-girl" or "dating" server. They promote this, and garner hundreds of thousands of members that often end up as victim to the ploys of these sick people. Time and time again, Discord has proven that they only prioritise a quick buck over the safety of their customers, let alone members. Their moderation is poor, servers go unnoticed, dating servers are right there on the library in trending servers, with clear intentions to promote dating, despite it violating their own TOS. It's beautiful how, despite being practically a social media app, they don't consider the safety of their users and promote this kind of behaviour, that opposes their own TOS. Zero self-respect?

Do what you want with this review, Discord. However, in the end, if you don't do anything right with your moderation and step up to do something, you all will be the center of a trending news story. Good luck. I wish a safe stay to all the users—recent or old.
