Last night I was trying to order food. I ordered 4 times and 3 times there were issues with the order so I had to spend minutes with customer care. It was only the 4th time the order was arrived in without any issues. The customer service provided refund for previous orders but the experience was not upto my expectations. Will try other food delivery apps in future maybe.
Terrible customer support
The app works just fine. Doesn’t crash. Does what it’s supposed to do, so from a technical pov, you’re good. However, DoorDash Australia has hands down the worst customer service. They club orders together without customer consent for god knows what kind of operational enhancement that has delayed my order countless times by 30 mins minimum. There was a recent incident when a dasher ghosted me after I waited for the order for an hour. Reached out to support and they said they can cancel and refund. This is where my complaint is, is my time not worth anything? How do I eat now after you cancel my order after me waiting for an hour? How does this compensate me A) for the distress you’ve caused and B) the time I’ve lost? The app apparently doesn’t allow DoorDash customer support to assign the order to some other dasher. I kept asking Matthew from customer support to help me out in some way, but not only was he responding once every 5 mins but also was pretty reluctant to help probably under the impression that he is airtight and protected by whatever company policies they have in place.
No proper method to reach out
DoorDash is going good but ya I think the way how a customer reaches out to a dasher/restaurant/DoorDash could be better. It’s like now , u order something, wait for 1 hour for your food and then see that the order was cancelled or not accepted or a dasher calls you saying that the place is permanently closed. How can this be possible on a delivery app?
Lot of tym items gets missing, wrong order delivered , the dasher goes to an outlet(drive through) buys food and delivers to you with wrong items or missing things. It really is not appreciated. I hope things improve, but ya every coin has 2 sides, I love it as it’s my source of food , hehe!!
