Finally lens correction is here

One thing that Lightroom always had, but Aperture or Photos did not, is the lens distortion correction. Now thanks to this, I can do that automatically within Photos seamlessly. Additionally it has other useful functions which it does nicely. Almost all of the fuctions it has are useful and more or less automatic. Professionals may not like the fact that we have little control over these corrections (most are presets) but for people like me who want it fast and less completecated, it is fine. One point to note, you need to use it before you use Photos editing options. Otherwise, it will not recognise the correct lens and camera and no distiontion corrections will be applied. As it is fully automatic, you can not select lens and camera combinations from a list.

Quick Fix

Great application I have been using Aperture for a long time. Its a stripped down version of Aperture for people who find it tough to understand Gamma graphs or Histograms. It is so easy to operate, just click-click-click and save. Lens correction is automatic. It takes care of all the lens aberations. The best part is that one does not have to maintain an image workflow like Aperture or Lightroom. It just latches on to the extensions in Photos making it very very user friendly. Well, could it beat Aperture or Lightroom? May be not, they have much better features and lot of depth in terms of operational features. But for a faster fix and ease of use for landscape photos, this DxO is good.
