Endel: Focus, Sleep, Relax 4+

After months of using Endel, I am finally ready to write a review.

First of all a heartfelt thank you to the developers who made this gem.
I am using Endel for about 12 hours a day changing modes. It’s kind of a sound landscape for your life.
There is this thing about priming songs. If you listen to one particular song while doing a particular activity for enough times your brain will be classically associated with that feeling (Somewhat Pavlov’s experiment). That’s what I’ve achieved with this app.

The modes are actually genuinely designed. Every litte thing about this app and it’s interface has a thoughtful intention behind it. Every little movement in the animation has a purpose and it signifies something. And that’s what makes it so much more beautiful. It’s an endless pit where you discover something new everyday.

And let me tell you that all of them work perfectly. Sleep mode makes me sleep, relax mode makes me relax, focus mode makes me focus and that’s what it’s supposed to do I mean right?

It’s so hard to appreciate but the simplicity of serving its purpose is a huge achievement.

Download this app, and just start using it. Every Endel user will be having a different experience and hence a very personal and different relationship with it.. Enjoy.

I have been using endel for many months now having discovered it through the app store. After a brief trial I just jumped for the subscription.

My usecase has been office work mostly. I run the app on my mac all the time I am in office and it does a great job of helping create a serene soundscape with a match of the environment and my heartbeat rate. I have felt at occasions my focus really going high and may be attributed to endel’s role.

I absolutely love their beautiful animations though do not keep it open to see it. The app is beautifully designed and am loving the new features being brought in, such as the heartbeat data. I also heard the founder’s interview of things to come and I am only excited to see the future updates.

The developers have been super responsive to my posts on Twitter about issues.

I highly recommend the app for people wanting to focus, relax and have a great productive time.

First of all, let me start by saying this is such a good app, with its simple and straightforward approach, ui and music generation you don't need to worry about what music to choose.

However, it may be too simple. The music was working perfectly before but due to circumstances I have been staying up late and in turn changed my sleep schedule. Now whenever I put on the sleep mode, tide wave sounds keep playing which I didn’t feel comfortable with. So I tried some other modes and realized that the app needs a survey of some kind to ask for what effects the user likes/dislikes. Also, I do not understand the meaning of touch inputs, as they do not affect the music in the long run, I hoped it would.

Other than that, its a perfect app for someone who just needs to do their work and relax, with a simple no effort press of a button

We are already thinking about how we can personalize the sound for those whose internal biorhythms differ from the standard circadian rhythm. And one of these settings will appear soon.

Regarding the touch interactivity, it's just a fun feature (or meditative for some) added to bring some lively feeling to Endel, make it more interactive.
